Workshop on Dhamail and Bihu dances comes to an end in Hailakandi

HAILAKANDI: A workshop on Dhamail and Bihu dances organised by Culture Centre, Hailakandi under the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Assam in collaboration with district administration and Bandana Sangeet Mahavidalaya came to an end at Blue Flowers’ English Medium High School here on Saturday.
The seven-day workshop began on February 21. Many budding artistes from nook and cranny of the district learnt the finer nuances of Dhamail and Bihu dances.
Certificates were given away to those who successfully completed the training programme.
Many eminent dignitaries including Cultural Development Officer, Sari L Lungtau, President Merchant Association, Bhagaban Das Sardar, President Hailakandi Red Cross Society, Khitish Ranjan Paul, President, Sri Ramkrishna Seva Samiti, Premangshu Shekhar Paul, administrator of Blue Flowers’ English School, Binendra Nath Bhattacharjee, Principal of Vandana Sangeet Mahavidalaya, Banda Chakraborty and journalist Tilak Ranjan Das graced the event.
