On Monday the main gate of Shillong Ramkrishna Mission at Jail Road was locked by the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) which led to the break out of anger among the people across the nation.
According to the reports, Sadhan Purkayastha, Secretary, Assam State Committee of ‘Amora Bangalee’ alleged that a section of Khasi people from Meghalaya locked the main gate of the Mission when the community was celebrating a festival named Seng Kut Snem.
In a press release he said that the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU), they have crossed their limits by attacking Ramkrishna Mission this time. He then alleged that on last Monday when the community was celebrating their festival, a group of people demanded to keep all offices and institutes closed. Later they forcibly locked Ramkrishna Mission when they were performing their day to day activities.
Deboja Sumanta, President Youth Brigade Seva Dal stated, “I condemn the Khasi Students’ Union for locking the gate of Ramkrishna Mission, Shillong. The man who showed the path of service Of God is now insulted. Ramkrishna Mission Shillong has contributed so much towards the development of Khasi people are now themselves the target of Khasi Students’ Union. The man who loved all religions, his temple is under danger in Shillong. Shame on Khasi Students’ Union.”
