“The Barak Valley Express”, a railway model oriented restaurant, was inaugurated on Sunday in Silchar by Assam Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, Deputy Speaker Aminul Haque Laskar and former Principal of GC College Partha Sarathi Chanda among others.
The restaurant is constructed with the its inspiration taken from railway station. The design makes it stand out as its engine serves food while moving in the track. The restaurant is the first as per its design in Barak Valley and second in Northeast having Guwahati taken the first place. The long admired and cherished station “Bhasha Shahid Station” is highlighted in the restaurant. A replica of train and station is also there beside the dining place. A lot of space is also available for dining and party. The restaurant is situated at Jogipara, near NIT Silchar.
Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, on the occasion of launch of the Railways, wrote on his facebook page’s timeline, “Inaugurated a railway model oriented restaurant in Silchar today named the ‘Barak Valley Express’,a first of it’s kind restaurant in Silchar which has beautifully showcased the cultural traditions of Barak valley also highlighting the historic Bhasa Sahid Andolan. My best wishes to the entire team & I am hopeful they will be able to live high up to the expectations of the food lovers of entire Silchar.”
