A very innovative program named “Anaemic Mashi” got launched in Hailakandi as a part of Poshan Maah celebration, with a very wise goal of reducing anaemia among the pregnant women and girls. This program was organized by the district administration, DPMU, Poshan Abhiyaan and Social Welfare Department.
On 21st September, the program was held at Indrakumari Girls’ Higher Secondary School’s auditorium where a special orientation programming was set forth by the functionaries of National Health Mission among the 50 numbers of Anganwadi helpers, first batch, giving spotlight to the consequences of Anaemia and the requirements of nutritious food to deal with this ailment.
Megh Nidhi Dawal, Deputy Commissioner, presented certificates to the Anganwadi helpers at the end of their all day long training.
Dawal further stated that the administration is providing top priority to set up nutri-gardens in Anganwadi Centres as a part of the ongoing Poshan Mela and requested everyone to plant such gardens, including vegetables and flower pots, in their backyard.
“Anaemic Mashi” is an excellent initiative to keep in check the ongoing health issues regarding Anaemia and reducing its probabilities of occurance among women.
