Imposition of strict rules and regulations for observance of MAHALAYA and VISHWAKARMA Puja.

On Tuesday, Cachar Administration has introduced strict norms for Mahalaya and Vishwakarma Puja celebration which is on 17th September 2020.
Following are the restrictions mentioned by the administration:
*Movement of more than a group of 3 people together on the roads is restricted on Mahalaya morning.
*No allowance for accumulation of crowd. A group comprising of maximum 3 people are free to move on the roads.
*Wearing of mask and maintaining physical distance will be mandatory on both the occasions.
*Accumulation of crowd in both bridges (old and new) is strictly prohibited at Sadarghat, from 16th September that is from evening 9:00 p.m. till 18th September morning 6:00 a.m.
*Celebration of Vishwakarma puja is allowed with an accumulation of maximum 15 people.
* No distribution of wet food/ Prasad is allowed by any Puja Samiti. Only packed Prasad/dry foods are allowed.
*No glittering is been permitted.
The restriction has been brought under section 34 of Disaster Management Act on the basis of “Apprehension of rise in number of Covid cases in view of unwanted crowds on 17th September 2020.”
Cachar DC, Keerthi Jalli said,”Violation of this order will attract punitive action. This order comes into force with immediate effect”.
