Announcement of the Biggest Infrastructure Project in Assam: Himanta Biswa Sarma.

In a press meet held at Janata Bhawan on Saturday 12th September, Hemanta Biswas Sarma announced the “Biggest Infrastructure” project.
In the press meet the Health and Education Minister, mentioned about the projects in infrastructure development which includes the construction of a new Medical College in the state, New Degree colleges for girls and Law Colleges. In addition to it he also discussed about the road corridor for better connectivity within the state and a few flyovers and bridges will also be constructed.
Following are the announcement done:
*6 new degree colleges will be opened in the district of Sonitpur, Tinsukia, Majuli, Chairang, Baksa, Udalguri.
*9 new degree colleges for women will be opened in Cachar, Karimganj, Hailakandi, Barpeta, Darang, Nagaon, Bilasipara, Goalpara, Gulukganj.
*10 new colleges will be made in Silchar, Diphu, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, Rangia, Tihu, Roha, Jorhat, North Lakhimpur and Bilasipara.
*3 new hospitals and medical colleges will be built in Goalpara, Bishwanath Chariali and Charaideo to solve the patience of those places.
*A new bridge will be constructed which will connect Majuli and Lakhimpur, also construction of a new flyover above Tezpur’s Mission Chariali and Maligaon Chariali was informed.
*10 road corridor will be made for better connectivity among the districts. The corridor will be 24 km long and will cost around Rs.194 crore which will be constructed between Nagaon-Batadraba.
*41 km long corridor will be built between Sonari and Saradieu.
*A 32 km long corridor will be built connecting Jorhat Medical College and Komarbondha with a sanctioned amount of Rs. 216 crore
