DURGA PUJA PRE-CAUTION: WEST BENGAL GOVERNMENT SET RULES.

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, preparations for Durga puja have already been started in West Bengal. But along with the preparations, importance is also given towards the health security of people. For the upcoming Durga Puja, all the Puja committees will have to remain alert about certain aspects as corona precautions. Regarding this, a list has been prepared from the Chief Minister’s Office. West Bengal’s ‘Forum for Durgotsav’ has also been informed about the same. About 350 Puja committees are linked with this platform. A source from the Chief Minister’s Office told that inorder to avoid the coronavirus infection during the Puja, several rules as safety measures, have been tied up in the list. More than 25 persons will not be allowed to enter the pandal at a time for idol viewing. Social Distancing must be maintained. Everyone will have to wear mask. Hands should be sanitised frequently. There should be arrangements for hand washing in the pandal. Also, the pandal should be made in such a way that the visitors can view the idol from a long distance. The source also revealed that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee keeping in mind the health security measures during the pandemic, gave permission for the Puja preparations and therefore steps are taken likewise. The recommendations will be sent to every Puja committee. Officials of several committees have appreciated the government’s precautionary measures during the pandemic for Durga Puja. New enthusiasm have been seen among the people as well.
